MEETINGS ON THE 3rd WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH – 7PM at Silver Dollar Restaurant

422 E. Mississippi Ave, Elwood, IL  60421

This Month’s Meeting

This month’s speaker will be Will County State’s Attorney Mr. James Glasgow. Mr. Glasgow will be talking to us about Illinois and Will County gun laws and other firearm related legal issues.  And, as always…don’t forget to bring a friend!

Gun Giveaway

Will County ISRA member, George T. Coleman of Naperville was the name drawn for the WCGR June Gun Giveaway, regretfully George was not present so the gun will roll to next month! Remember, the winner must be present, be an ISRA member, have a valid FOID and comply with all local, state and federal laws.

Last Month’s Meeting

At our June meeting we had Judge Bennett Braun from the 12th Judicial Circuit Court of Will County as our guest speaker, Judge Braun told the 75 members in attendance about District of Columbia v. Heller, case in which the U.S. Supreme Court on June 26, 2008, held (5–4) that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to possess firearms independent of service in a state militia and to use firearms for traditionally lawful purposes, including self-defense within the home.

Chairman’s Comments

“Elections Have Consequences: Have You Really Listened to the Left’s Message?”

David A. Lombardo”

It takes a special individual to live in Illinois; you have to be connected somehow. Your mother still does your laundry, all your high school friends live here and aren’t sober long enough to move, your dream job brought

you here and doesn’t pay enough for you to save up money to escape, you love crappy weather, or you’re looking forward to watching the state split in half when the New Madrid Fault finally let’s go.

Your desire to live here has to overshadow any shred of logic whatsoever. The taxes are some of the highest in the nation, ineffective social welfare programs drain the state’s coffers, a small handful of enormously powerful politicians de facto own the state, potholes in the streets look like the result of a meteor shower, Interstates have three conditions: gridlock due to rush hour, gridlock due to summer construction and gridlock due to winter ice and snow. And, if you happen to believe in the Bill of Rights and are a pro-Second Amendment person… Well, we all know about that problem.

“Ninety-eight percent of the people in this country are decent, hardworking, honest Americans. It’s the other lousy two percent that get all the publicity. But then, we elected them.”

Lily Tomlin

“The people who work against your gun rights are basically saying to you, “The right of the criminal to rip you off, rape and kill you shall not be infringed.” And they wonder why we’re a bit testy”

Editor of KABA LIBERTY ADVOCATE, Friday, July 30, 2001

“I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand.”

SUSAN B. ANTHONY

“You may find me one day dead in a ditch somewhere. But by God, you’ll find me in a pile of brass.”

Tpr. M. Padgett

“Using inner city kids as your proof that guns and kids don’t mix, is like using an alcoholic to prove all people will abuse alcohol.”

Lori Broadhead

“How dare politicians continue to pass insane laws forcing good, law-abiding people to be defenseless and helpless.”

Ted Nugent

The said Constitution [shall] never be construed to authorize Congress to infringe or to prevent the people of the United States from keeping their own arms.”

Samuel Adams, Massachusetts' U.S. Constitution Ratification Convention, 1788

“One of the greatest delusions in the world is the hope that the evils in this world are to be cured by legislation.”

Thomas B. Reed (1886)

“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”

Thomas Jefferson, Proposed Virginia Constitution (1776)

“Foolish liberals who are trying to read the Second Amendment out of the Constitution are courting disaster by encouraging others to use the same means to eliminate portions of the constitution THEY don’t like.”

Alan Dershowitz

“Every 13 seconds in America someone uses a gun to stop a crime.”

Sen. Larry Craig

“The AK-47 is not a device of aggression … I devised this machine-gun for the security of my country,”

Mikhail Kalashnikov, April 1997
