The ISRA Annual Sighting-In-Day (SID) will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 9:30-3:30. The ISRA Range offers this event every year as a public service to the community. Aside from sighting-in your firearms, we provide this service in the interest of firearm safety. We check in all firearms and make sure the ammunition is correct, sights are mounted properly and make certain you know how to operate your firearm. While Sighting-In-Day is designed for hunters, we have many people who have purchased a firearm but have never fired it. They are also welcome to come spend the day and see our Range. This is a chance for the ISRA to meet the gun owning community.
The Illinois State Rifle Association will sponsor a scaled down version of IGOLD on Tuesday, October 29th. The venue for the meeting is the Howlett Building Auditorium which only holds about 500 people. The purpose of this event is to stop in and see your State Senator and ask them to vote NO on SB1966. If it passes the Senate, the Governor will surely sign it. As long as you are there, take time to go see your State Representative. If you are unable to be present, please call your State Senator and State Representative from your home or work.

Representative Kathleen Willis' rewrite of SB1966
, her "Fix the FOID Act" was not called today in the Illinois House
(nor tonight, they just adjourned...) because she did not have enough
votes. The party is not over. Please keep calling your State
Representatives. The Spring legislative session is not scheduled to end
until Friday at midnight. Anything can happen up until then.
The Illinois House of Representatives will not be in session on Saturday (tomorrow) but will return on Sunday at 4:00pm. There has been a new amendment filed on SB1966. This Amendment reduces the cost of the FOID from $50 for five years to $20 for five years. The rest of the onerous provisions, such as fingerprinting and forcing private transfers through FFLs, still remain. We are vehemently opposed to this entire bill. I expect this new amendment to go to Committee immediately on Sunday afternoon. If this bill makes it through Committee, it will be on the House floor very quickly. Be prepared to file witness slips opposing this new amendment. As I write this, the amendment has not yet been posted to Committee.

It is critical that you call your State Representative now and urge that they not support this bill, SB1966, as amended, in a floor vote.
PLEASE STAND BY FOR ALERTS!
