Other Irregular Rifle Matches at ISRA Range

Besides our Tuesday Night competitions, TNIRL conducts other rifle competitions on occasional weekends throughout the year.  These differ from the “Conventional” Highpower matches conducted at the ISRA Range by Illinois Highpower and American Legion Cook County Rifle League.

The principal differences from “Conventional” Highpower matches are:

  *  These matches follow simplified courses of fire.

  *  These matches cater to “vintage” service rifles and military surplus rifles.  (Some would call them Jurassic Rifles!)

  *  These scores are not submitted to NRA for classification purposes.  (But they do qualify as organized competitions for CMP qualification.)

(By the way:  This site is still very much “under construction”.)

If these matches strike your fancy, you would be sure to enjoy a Garand Match wherever one can be found.  There is a Garand Match included in ALCCRL’s program every year, and Garand Matches are held at local clubs throughout the state.

Of special note is Illinois Highpower’s .30 Caliber Service Rifle Match.  This is a full, across-the-course/National Match Course competition and is essentially the annual championship match for those who care to compete with any .30 caliber rifle that was ever a U.S. Service Rifle.
