Besides our Tuesday Night
competitions, TNIRL conducts other rifle competitions on occasional weekends
throughout the year. These differ from
the “Conventional” Highpower matches conducted at the
The principal differences
from “Conventional” Highpower matches are:
*
These matches follow simplified courses of fire.
* These matches cater to “vintage”
service rifles and military surplus rifles (Some would call them Jurassic
Rifles!) (Also, the “Low Power” matches,
cater to .22 rimfire rifles.)
*
These scores are not submitted to NRA for classification purposes. (But they do qualify as organized
competitions for CMP qualification.)

If these matches strike your fancy, you would be sure to
enjoy a Garand Match wherever one can be found.
There is a Garand Match included in ALCCRL’s program every year, and Garand Matches are held at
local clubs throughout the state.
Also of interest are the Appleseed Shoots held all over the country, including those at the
ISRA Range on April 17 & 18, June 19 & 20, Nov 20
& 21 and October 9 & 10, 2010. “The Appleseed Program is designed to take you from
being a simple rifle owner to being a true rifleman. …a man who has learned to
shoot a rifle accurately… …a marksman capable of hitting a man-sized target
from 500 yards away”.
