All through the months and years you hear gun owners say things about elected officials like “What is the matter with that guy”? or “How can he be in favor of such a gun bill”? Over and over you hear these comments from gun owners about legislation that so and so has sponsored or is backing. Then they say I’d like to grab him by the ear and tell him it’s my rights he is playing with! Well when you go to the voting booth you will be able to grab him by the ear. If you are really that angry about such things, there is a time and place for you to let that person know what you really think of his policies. That time comes in elections and one is coming up in November. Every gun owner should be registered to vote and also exercise that right. This is the one time you get to do some damage to the career of someone that is constantly bringing up bills against your right to keep and bear arms! What really bugs me is when I talk to a gun owner and you hear him say he or she is going to vote for so and so because of this or that and that politician is totally anti-gun! Here’s a tip. Without the 2nd Amendment you’re a slave! When you finally have a chance to do something, why would you lay down and die? If this was the colonial days the Founding Fathers would run that person out of town and remove him from the ballot because he is trying to take away the very right they wrote into the Bill of Rights for every American. Yet today you hear, of all people, gun owners say they are going to vote for such an individual. You need to visit the ISRA-PVF website for state elections and the NRA-PVF web for national races and find out who is the person running in your district that will fight for your 2nd Amendment rights. Then start telling all your friends about this person. Write short letters to your local paper about how this person will defend your rights. Many gun owners may read your letter and say, “Wow, now that I know that person is pro-gun I will give him my vote”. Election time is when you need to be the most vocal about this subject and the people that support it. The 2nd Amendment is there so that they respect all the other Amendments. Tell people about what happened in England and Australia. On the state level every gun owner should be voting for Judy Baar Topinka and Joe Birkett! Blagojevich has been totally against your rights and has done nothing but love every gun bill Daley has brought up. They say Southern Illinois put him in last time because they thought he was OK by the charade he put on. Southern Illinois do me a favor! This time put him out for the good of all gun owners, sportsmen, hunters and shooters. He fooled you and we have paid the price fighting gun bill after gun bill. It’s our turn now!! I would love to hear on the news the following day after election that it was the ISRA-PVF, NRA-PVF and the gun owners across this state that caused his defeat! We have to let these politicians understand that a vote for a bill against our rights is a vote for their opponent in the next election. When you walk towards your voting place and someone hands you a ‘Vote for Blago’ pamphlet hand it back to them and politely say “I don’t vote for people who go against my 2nd Amendment rights”! They will go back to their headquarters and say “I don’t know but I had a lot of people turned off by his anti-gun position”. They won’t know why he lost unless you tell them why you didn’t vote for him—so tell them! The media will do their usual distortion of the facts about gun bills and why certain politicians voted in favor of them. That leaves it up to us to get the truth out! Fight truth decay—send rebuttals to your local papers. Get excited and get mildly angry. Tell everyone you know the truth about Blagojevich’s antics and how Judy is on our side. Do you want conceal carry in this state or not? Then in November do something about it. Let’s not ‘conceal’ what Judy stands for concerning gun rights and let’s ‘carry’ her to victory. Now go spread the small talk to all your friends and family.
