What Will They Do Next?

by Don Bekeleski

It just amazes me what legislators will think of next. In New Jersey an Assemblyman by the name of Louis Manzo (D-Jersey City) has introduced a bill that would authorize government agencies to seize homes or cars from people who have illegal firearms on their property. Manzo’s bill takes a swipe at the Fourth Amendment as well as the Second. I would really love to see George Washington or Thomas Jefferson return from the dead for one day, just to address this nation as a whole. Especially speak to all elected officials, as to the rights which they established in the founding of this country, that have been eroded by these legislators and declare it must stop. I don’t understand how the American people stand by idly and let such legislation go forward. Are we that busy that we don’t care how much closer to slavery we get, while our freedom elected officials are tearing to pieces? Why aren’t the newspapers denouncing these kinds of things and telling the people, “This is an encroachment on your freedom.”

The bill A-3998 has caused great response from gun owners. They are saying police might resort to planting illegal guns in homes or cars just to seize them. That would not surprise me. But why is it just gun owners?

The state’s ban on assault weapons made many citizens felons overnight. I wonder what George and Tom would have said about that! If someone has one of those old M-1 Carbines lying around gathering dust, their house could be seized. Just think if George and Tom were standing outside and asked “Why are you seizing this citizen’s property?” and the police replied “Because he had a rifle inside it.” Man would the fireworks fly!! Today the American people just ignore it. What do you think the early colonists would have said and done to the police? We fought England to be free and have the right to keep and bear arms. Does the 2nd Amendment say, “the right of the people to own only certain arms as determined by local governments”?

You could also lose your house over a magazine clip being in your house or car. Under the new law those would be considered ‘parts’ of a firearm. They already convicted a man under the assault bill for having a 22 rifle with a tubular magazine that held more than ten rounds. The time has come for each one of us to start speaking to everyone we know about these atrocities that are taking place on our rights as Americans. If you are reading this and do not belong to the NRA and ISRA, you are not adding your number to the ones crying out. Join and also tell every friend and person you talk to about the horrors going on in this great land of ours.

The colonists never stopped fighting and speaking out for their rights. You are their descendants. Will you continue the fight or are other things more important? Too busy with football or some other thing that you don’t have time to stop your slip into government not by the people? God help us when we as citizens of this great country give up the fight. If we don’t all hang together we shall surely all hang separately!!
